There are worlds inside of worlds inside of worlds. There are billions of people, and we’ll only know a fraction of them. Stories exist in windows you can’t make out in buildings smaller than your fingernail on a computer screen. Maybe we can’t see the stories, but they’re there - whether we experience them or not.
zines + books
This book of poetry is about acknowledging where you came from, accepting the inherited strengths and flaws, and finding a way to use that unique set of traits and lineage to forge a path forward. This book is for the black folks, the queerdos, the ones trying to make peace with childhood traumas, those looking for love, and those trying to make magic in a broken world.
What If? Zine #2 is the second in a series exploring new design ideas and spatial relationships through an intersectional lens. This particular zine focuses on defining texture. It discusses texture in the following ways:
The texture of places
opposing textures and as black folks, expanding our feelings of belonging
hair texture and respectability politics
What If? Zine #1 is the first in a series exploring new design ideas and spatial relationships through an intersectional lens. This zine features early drawings of a conceptual evolution of the shotgun house. These drawings and writings inspired further explorations via the Vernacular Project (now Constellation, an up-and-coming series).
